When I was growing up, people spoke of ‘four-letter words’
as the ones which most definitely should not be used in
polite company …

As far as I’m concerned, though, there are a great many
four-letter words that should be used not only often, but
in any company, especially that of children …

Read , for example … we read for pleasure as well as
for wisdom and enlightenment … and what about work
and play … these go together, because they should
balance each other … too much of either one isn’t
necessarily a positive thing …

There is also care … to care for and about others,
to nurture their growth and cherish their happiness,
is this not a worthy ambition to pass along … and give
seems to follow naturally … there is a special joy
in being able to give …

And what about hope … it is hope that enables us to
dream … it is hope that fills us with the strength
to reach our goals …

I could go on and on with the four-letter words
that I believe should be used often, because the list
is nearly endless … free and pray and sing, to name
only a few more … but the ones most important, at
least to me, are love and soul … it is love that
nurtures the soul and brings it into the light …
